Poppy's autopsy pictures

Poppy was in the freezer for a few months before I did the post mortem. Pete had a bad back when she died and couldn't dig a grave so Poppy went into the chest freezer. I didn't want to do a post mortem at all on a big animal like a dog but when Pete was better, I decided to have a look inside her. I thought I needed to see the oesophagus, see if there was a U-bend in it like we saw it on x-ray (see below). But I could barely find the oesophagus and could not see anything wrong with it so I have no idea how or why the U-bend happened when Poppy was alive. I had no idea what I was doing or seeing and it's now been almost 3 years since I did the post mortem so can't comment much, if a vet sees this, feel free to let me know if you can see anything unusual. All the organs were massive compared to ferrets... The mucus that she had problems with was still in her nasal cavity when she had defrosted. I still wonder why she developed it. If it hadn't been for the mucus, she would have lived longer...
